Caller : No, I want to speak to Annie Wan !
Operator : Yes I understand you want to speak to anyone. You can speak to me. Who is this?
Caller : I'm Sam Wan . And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent.
Operator : I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone ! But what's this urgent matter about?
Caller : Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noe Wan was involved in an accident. Noe Wan got injured and now Noe Wan is being sent to the hospital..
Operator : Look, if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this!
Caller : You are so rude! Who are you?
Operator : I'm Saw Ree .
Caller : Yes! You should be sorry .. Now give me your name!!
Operator : That's what I said. I'm Saw Ree .
Caller : Oh.....God.......

why i have never had a girl friend | owais wani

First things first , I don’t have a girl friend primarily because girls don’t like me. Now after shrugging off the responsibility of stating the obvious . I , for the benefit of my readers would like to go into the lesser known , lesser obvious and more intellectual reasons( which naturally makes them less acceptable)

I have always been devoid of fascinations and deams. When I was in kindergarten I didn’t want toys . when I was in primary classes I didn’t want video games. When I grew little older I didn’t want a bike . when I got into the “10+2” stage I didn’t want good grades. And , as expected by now , all throughout these years I didn’t think about having a girlfriend.

Modern day wisdom and hence pre-planning is not something associated with me. As such I could never hope of getting into a relation with the notion of leaving it with the it-didn’t-work-out excuse. This ,to my mind , is another strong reason of my failure on this front.

apocalypse of 2010 | owais wani

Inspired by the The legend of the apocalypse (bible, revelation 6:1-8:1) and our very apocalypse of 2010.

The first seal has been opened.
The apocalypse is in the offing.
The pestilence of tear gas shells,
A bow, nay! Just a catapult .
A catapult that would.
Put Thanatus to shame..
The second seal has been opened,
The swords have changed form.
They work from a distance now .
They kill much faster now .
The third seal has been opened,
The scales tilted in their favor .
The fourth seal has been opened,
The rider is still death.
The rider of pale green ‘gypsies’
Given the control to kill.
The fifth seal has been opened.
Martyrdom is still common .
They killed us then, they kill us now .
The sixth seal has been opened,
Programmed Disturbances , Normal disturbances .
The seventh seal awaits .
Or does it unfurl every day ??
The angels with trumpets blowing over the bodies of our children..

The legend of of Zeteshta Devi | owais wani

“Helloo”
“Helloo’

‘Wani get ready you are coming with me to zeeth yaar’
“Zeeth yaar , where the hell is that? . cze ma karnawakh me encounter”
“Cze @@#$$%^&*(**&^^ .lagu palaw jaldi . its in the lap of zabarwan hills , grand palace se thoda aage. you will enjoy it”
“Ok. Report here in half an hour.’

So half an hour later I found myself with Faheem driving through our busy but slow city. Secretariat , fly over , lal chowk , ma road , trc ,gupkar , grand palace. Every bodys mind is programmed to tunr left near grand palace towards boulevard.
I askd, cze kot pakan seudi ?
That’s where we have to go . climb that hill.

For the first time in my life I didn’t turn left near grand palace but continued straight on. We zoomed past the hotel gate. Just a few hundered yards down the hotel mgate we were stopped at a check point.
“Where to ?”
“Mandir”
“Mandir?? Enquired the police guy looking at my beard.”
“Not actually mandir , we have to meet Bansi lal”
“Ah , you can go.”
“Ye bansi saeb kusu, Faheema?”
“The care taker of the mandir and our customer”

Dawat e Fikr o Amal | Book Review by Mushtaq Ul Haq

Dawat e Fikr o Amal
Author= Waris Mazhari
Publisher= Foundation for Islamic Studies, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi
Year of Publication= 2009
Price= Not Mentioned                                          Pages= 176

The 9/11 incidents proved to be watershed in the Muslim-West Relations. The West on offensive and hostile towards the Muslim World and the Clash of Civilizations just round the corner. The aftermath of 9/11 was a period of hostility of West towards Muslims and anything Islamic, every notion, connotation, ideology and relation with the Muslim World was challenged, probed and delved into by the West in order to remedy as to what went wrong with the Muslims and why they ‘hate us’? These radical changes and different atmosphere even led some conscious Muslims to introspect about their shortcomings and identify the loopholes so as to plug the same.

One of the oldest institution of Muslim learning which even helped the Muslims to preserve their distinct identity, culture and religion even during the dark gloomy days of colonialism and alien rule i.e Madrasa became a bone of contention between the Muslims and West, as the latter alleged them to be the Bastions of Terrorists.

Kashmir Burns Again | Mushtaq Ul Haq

The inception of the year 2010 was marked with killing of Inayat Khan by CRPF personnel & these killings continued with the death of teenagers like Zahid Farooq & Wamiq Farooq at the hands of paramilitary troopers & Kashmir police. On June 11 Tufail Ahmad Mattoo was murdered in cold blood by police by aiming a tear gas shell at his head which alongwith the Fake Encounter killings of three innocent youth at Machil, Kupwara in May proved to be the last straw on the camel’s back and whole kashmir erupted as never before, with youth taking a lead in the indigenous protests and separatist leadership forced to chalk out some strategy which they did with the announcement of “Quit Kashmir Movement” on 24 June, 2010. With that initiated a never ending vicious circle of death, maim, torture and killing spree by the armed forces and kashmir police. The separatists began to issue unique calendars of Hartals and protests which people follow in letter and spirit with the result whole life and governance in kashmir being crippled for the past three months with death toll crossing hundred, there is no indication of the protests being abated or the killings being stopped with the people ready to offer even more sacrifices for what they perceive as Aazadi from Indian occupation.

Anecdote | by Owais Wani

To the general population he is the Sikh. No, that is not only his religion that is his name. A name that has served him better than any proper noun can. Nobody (almost) knows what his real name is. i myself had to ask him his name personally when my curiosity overtook me. when the thought of writing this came to my mind i asked my mother
"Mummy yi sikh kari pethi chu batmaelni?".
"amis gai waens akh yeth. yeli bi yor ayes yi ose tami wezi ti yeth", she replied with a distant gaze.
the sikh(with enormous respect) worked as a surgical assistant in one of the valley hospitals and is a RMP ( registered medical practitioner). he runs a small medical store from- God knows which year. Every afternoon he comes riding his bicycle. his bicycle being as austere as him. the handdle of the bicycle supports a basket made of light cast iron. the cycle frame is old but healthy and the torn seat is covered by a shiny "seat cover" to improve the aesthetics.
The most important thing about the bicycle is the fact that it was never replaced by a scooter.
Our sikh’s shop competes with his bicycle in austerity. It is a small room like thing with wooden shutters of the old type. the wall behind the counter is burdened with ill shaped shelves. shelves which hold up small boxes of medicine. He never keeps more than the bare minimum. A cursory look reveals he only keeps the routine over-the-counter stuff in his store. Add to that routine blood pressure controller-talmisartan , some botles of vitamin B complex an some antibiotcs. The highest i have ever seen or heard him prescribe is serratiopeptidase.

Kashmir Feeds India | Amir Ashai Writes

To all those, who think INDIA FEEDS KASHMIRIS!

1) 30% of the present Indian hydroelectricity is produced in Kashmir....

2) 7 out of the 11 hydroelectric projects announced by NHPC are......located in Kashmir accounting to 60% of the total electricity projects. ...

3) NHPC in rest of the Indian States works on 50:50 sharing basis...i.e. 50% of the electricity goes to the state and 50% is given to NHPC for the investment they put.... But in Kashmir the equation changes....Only 12% is given to Kashmir as a royalty and 88% is taken away by NHPC & supplied to the northern grid of INDIA via Punjab to DELHI, HARYANA, etc...

4) Incidently, Peak hour requirement of Electricity in Kashmir is 2000 Megawatts.... Not able to fulfill it, the government of J&K has to buy electricity worth 3600 crores annually from the same northern grid to which it supplies its produced electricity....

Conflict renders money useless in Kashmir | Bilal Hussain

The unending unrest in Kashmir has rendered the currency worthless as it couldn’t serve the very purpose of money. The currency here during these tough times couldn’t be used to procure essential commodities, medical services, transportation and many other vitals for survival as there are no takers for it at this point of time due to continuing curfew and protests. Baring few days market places in the valley remained closed for over three months now.
The currency, a tool used for means of exchange, a standard unity to measure value and a means to store wealth, officially coined or stamped metal currency; a form or denomination of coin or paper money. However, factually during conflict times like the one Kashmir at present is witnessing since past three months, it serves almost none of these purposes. All it can do here is to make lockers, purses and pockets heavier.

Kashmir Conflict | Genesis n Interpretation

Violence in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of many families. The ‘Kashmir Issue‘ is always seen as a major issue between India and Pakistan. But the political situation in the State has many dimensions. Jammu and Kashmir comprises three social and political regions: Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The heart of the Kashmir region is the Kashmir valley; the people are Kashmiri speaking and mostly Muslim with a small Kashmiri speaking Hindu minority. Jammu region is a mix of foothills and plains, of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs and speakers of various languages. The Ladakh region is mountainous, has very little population which is equally divided between Buddhists and Muslims. The “Kashmir Problem” is not just a dispute between India and Pakistan. This issue has external and internal dimensions. It involves the issue of Kashmiri identity known as Kashmiriyat and the aspirations of the people of J&K for political autonomy.

A Morning | Experienced by Kashmiri

“Don’t you dare take your f~~~~~~ car out through the gate or I’ll shoot you”, shouted the CRPF man through the slit of our gate. It was an ideal morning straight out from the pages of a novel the breeze was cool , the sun was out but it promised warmth instead of heat. The heat had already been surrendered to the advent of September. I had risen early. My feet had taken me straight to the bathroom for a bath that I wouldn’t need. After a breakfast that consisted of nothing but salt tea and leftover pieces of bread from the never-had Eid celebrations. It was a strange combination-this tea, it was rosy and almost shiny when you looked at it but it was salty to taste. How representative of the place it belongs to. The only thing that bothered me on such a beautiful morning was the morning itself , mornings herald days and the last three months had taught me to love the morning but fear the day. As I sat with a china cup in my hand my gaze wandered out of the window towards the skyline. High above the surrounding structures stood a minaret , a minaret of no or inconsequential beauty. No azan was sounded from it. But it was still built. The minaret belongs to the mosque , the mosque built over the resting place of Sheikh Dawood Sahib aka ‘Batamaal Saeb’ . A saint of the highest order whom a poet praised thus:

No Excuse Here | Ibrahim Wani Questions Some Kashmiri Students

Schools and colleges are shut down for over two months now, but many students say that is no excuse to stop studying. Self study is their mantra. Ibrahim Wani reports.

Initially he was confused. But after the first ten days Sheikh Rahil realized the curfews and shutdowns are going to continue. So he made up his mind.

The only option available was to self study. And so he did.

A student of class 12, Rahil is not alone. His friend Haseeb Ashai too has a similar story to narrate.

“Honestly speaking, the protests have had no effect on my education. Hartal or no hartal, it is finally up to a person himself what he or she wants to do with his time.”

Though they have not been able to go to school, both Rahil and Haseeb, who harbour dreams of becoming engineers, have not let this come in their way. The friends helped each other and at other times sought advice from a tutor living in the vicinity.

POLICE PEOPLE RELATIONS

The word Police now has become synonymous with Terror, Torture, Corruption, Killings and Intimidation. The once sacred word which upheld the notion of human rights, rule of law and protected life and property is now a much hated word in the Valley. During past they were the enforcers of whims of kings and emperors and now of the State. They were always atrocious on poor kashmiris be it the Dogra soldiers and now the State Police and its various agencies.

Since the partition of the subcontinent and valley’s alignment with India, Police and its agencies always played dubious role which made them infamous and hated in the eyes of masses. From 1947-1953 Police was used to silence and torture the dissent, who wanted either independence or accession to Pakistan. From 1953 the tables turned and yesterday’s rulers were today’s paupers and traitors and police aligned to those at the helm of affairs. Qadir Ganderbali and his Peace Brigade still sends shivers down the spine of dissident Political Activists. After that others from Ganderbali took the reins and continued to torture and heap atrocities especially on political dissidents.

Facebook n Hartals | Alec Smart "koshurpinta" way

Ever wonder what Alec Smart "Koshurpinta" has to say about frequent Curfews and Hartals in kashmir. And what would he comment in his own style about the plight of Kashmiri youth using facebook? specially during the days of ongoing turmoil in kashmir. Well to be honest i am not that much good when it comes to Alec Smart as much my dear Friend Mamoon is so i decided to leave it upto him. I am sure he would come up with some stuff from Alec Smart on facebook and Kashmir.

Text of 1949 UN Resolution Calling for Referendum on Kashmir | Archive Series

Pakistan was carved out of India in 1947 as the Muslim counterweight to India's Hindu population. Predominantly Muslim Kashmir to the north of both countries was divided between them, with India dominating two-thirds of the region and Pakistan one third. A Muslim-led revolt against the Hindu ruler triggered a build-up of Indian troops and an attempt by India to annex the whole In 1948, India attempted to annex the whole region, provoking a war with Pakistan. The United Nations brokered a cease-fire in 1949, and a five-member commission made up of Argentina, Belgium, Columbia, Czechoslovakia and the United States drew up a resolution calling for a referendum to decide Kashmir's future. The full text of the resolution, which India never allowed to be implemented, follows.
Resolution of the Commission of January 5, 1949
The United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan, Having received from the Governments of India and Pakistan, in communications dated 23 December and 25 December 1948, respectively, their acceptance of the following principles which are supplementary to the Commission's Resolution of 13 August 1948:

India Grabs Kashmir - Archive article from Time Magazine 1957

Monday, Feb. 04, 1957

KASHMIR: India Grabs It

For the better part of two days last week. India's gaunt, silver-maned V. K. Krishna Menon waved his arms, flashed his eyes and showered the U.N. Security Council with words. When the torrent finally petered out, the exhausted Menon held the alltime U.N. record for a single speech—7 hours 48 minutes. It was a performance worthy of a Southern Senator, and had a purpose familiar to any Southern filibusterer hoping to frustrate the majority will. Menon was out to stall Security Council proceedings while India's moralizing Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru completed India's illegal annexation of most of the strategic state of Kashmir.

And he Faces the Music | Shoe Thrown at Umar Abdullah J&K CM

…and he faces the music
It was an incident that lasted a mere 5 seconds. The moment an assistant sub-inspector, Abdul Ahad Jan, threw a shoe at Chief Minister of the state, Omer Abdullah. Those 5 seconds have now been immortalized as the biggest slur on the history of Abdullah family.
To most of the Kashmiris it was just another embarrassing moment to add to the omer Administrations blunders and gaffes. And yes, another page in the joke-book of Kashmir has been added. Following Asif Ali Zardari, Chinese premier wen jiabo, the home minister P. Chidambaram and so on, Omer Abdullah is the latest personality to enter the bush club.
Now, based on the fact that Mr. Abdul Ahad used his shoe, one may ask what exactly was he trying to accomplish? Best case scenario, omer gets a black eye or a scoffed up nose. But bluntly, one could feel the police officer, along with millions across the Kashmir, care less at the effectiveness of his weapon of choice. It was the statement that spoke loudest.

Jinnah a proponent of unity and peace - My understanding of Jinnah

In Quest of Jinnah: Diary, Notes, and Correspondence of Hector Bolitho
Since his entry into politics in 1906, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, diligently worked for unity of people in general and for Hindu-Muslim unity in particular.

Gopal Krishna Gokhle (1866-1915), the foremost Hindu leader before Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948), said of Jinnah: “He has true stuff in him and that freedom from all sectarian prejudices which will make him the best ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity.”

As such, he became the architect of the Hindu-Muslim unity. He was responsible for the Congress-Muslim League Pact of 1916. And by 1917 Jinnah came to be recognized among both Hindus and Muslims as one of India’s most outstanding political leaders.

Jinnah’s vision, Iqbal’s dream, Liaqat’s work - Pakistan

Jinnah: India, Partition, IndependenceAugust 14th is a day of remembrance. A day to recall the vision and dream of Iqbal who, as far back as 1930, spelt out the “destiny of Muslims at least of North-West India.” Said Iqbal: “I, therefore, demand the formation of a consolidated Muslim State in the best interests of India and Islam. For India it means security and peace resulting from an internal balance of power; for Islam an opportunity to rid itself of the stamp that Arabian Imperialism was forced to give it, to mobilise its laws, its education, its culture and to bring them into close contact with its own original spirit and with the spirit of modern times.”

Why Kashmir Burns?

By Smita Singh
10 August, 2010
Hard News
For Kashmiris the story of dissent and its repercussions has always been the same, perhaps it is time for us to listen.
I was 13 in March 1991 when I reached Kashmir. My father was posted as part of the Army’s Corps of Signals. I looked out as our convoy crawled through the empty streets of Srinagar, silent but for the graffiti screaming from a wall here, a poster there -‘Indian Dogs Go Away’, ‘We Want Freedom’, ‘Hizbul Mujahidin Zindabad’, some incomprehensible scrawls in Urdu following us until we entered the cantonment. Bunglows and beautiful lawns, tree lined pavements and the olive green of the uniforms- comforting, familiar and welcome. The images of the ghost town receded, but not for long.

I PROTEST

The streets of Kashmir  Valley are not the only places burning with angry protests over the civilian killings. The rage has also spilled over into the virtual world where youngsters are venting their pent up sentiments.

Youngsters aged 15-25 are using their personal or community internet pages to express their anger against what they see as human rights abuses. Social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut, YouTube and many such web platforms have turned into a new battleground for the angry young generation of the valley.

With nearly 50 people dying in less than seven weeks - most of them in firing by security forces - many such voices are proliferating on the internet.

"I Protest", a community page created by an unknown user, has over 3,000 members -- Kashmiris as well as non-Kashmiris. It is described as "a campaign for international awareness against human rights abuse in Indian Kashmir.”

Mirwaiz writes to Ban Ki Moon [UN]

Excellency,
India has declared an open war in Kashmir. There is blood of innocent children and teenagers spilled on the streets of Kashmir who are being shot dead for demanding the implementation of the solemn pledge made to them by the worl...d community that they would be allowed to decide their future. The entire population is swelling the streets to protest which the Indian state is crushing by using lethal force and other repressive measures - curfew, mass detention… In less than two months over 45 protesters mostly children and teenagers have been mercilessly killed, and the killing spree continues. Such is the height of oppression by the “biggest democracy on earth”, that we are even denied the time and space to mourn our dead. The situation is getting worse and uglier by the day for the hapless people of the valley and can only become disastrous for them unless the U.N. intervenes and fulfills its moral and legal obligation towards the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

RAGE IN YOUTH

youth icon
After many days of undeclared curfews, hartals and severe restrictions on the movement of people, it was a day of freedom on 27th July, 2010. I as usual had to go for a bit of shopping as well as to observe the mood of people and overhear their conversations which revolved round the issue of Aazadi. I was in a bus back to home with a small child of 3-4 years old as my companion besides me on the seat with a new toy gun in his hand, as is my nature I socialized with the child and enquired what for he had got the gun? I was surprised and awe stuck when he confided to me that he will kill the military man with the same. I was born in late 1980’s when the armed insurgency initiated and grew up in the gun culture and these things were no surprise for my generation who now are in the prime of their youth, but those who are born after 2005 when the militancy had reclined I couldn’t make it out for them. As soon as I pondered deeper I could make it out that the sentiment of violence, enemy, resistance and resentment had been transferred to the new generation of toddlers, infants and children who grew up with mobiles, internet and electronic gadgets in their hands and cartoon shows and movies but the daily atrocities, the conversations of elders and the hated figure of an alien soldier present at every nook and corner of each alley plus the over politicized environment, has led to the promiscuous political puberty of the new generation.

BATAMALLOO MARTYR

8 YEAR OLD SAMEER
I have heard they killed one more
Beat him up till he was sore

As usual, he was innocent
Though his death is recent

He was a promising child
But Fate drove him wild

As alleged he was a Stone Pelter
Running away from the pangs of Dark Devils helter skelter

HARTALS n KASHMIR!

Protest Calender Have you Ever Seen One?
More than one month has passed to the hartals and curfews (declared or undeclared) and the busy, occupied and hustle- bustle of life now seems to be a distant dream, God only knows when the situation will return to the normal? Since the inception of armed insurgency in the valley, hartals and curfews have been a norm the former issued by the separatists to condemn the State atrocities as well as to depict their strength and grip on masses and to judge the level of obedience of the masses while as the latter being clamped down by the State and enforced by its numerous security agencies to keep the dissent and resentment at bay and in between the two the common innocent masses keep suffering for the reasons they don’t know, or are too naïve to understand the same or just fate made them a part of the same.

CONTESTED CONSENSUS

“Woman is a Fitna”, shouted Nadeem at the top of his voice, so as to make his viewpoint more authentic by blurting it out more vocally. “No, she isn’t”, rebuked Zulkifl “How can you; still in 21st century uphold such fascist and conservative views despite being enrolled as a Masters student in this reputed university?”, Zulkifl trying to win over the classmates to his viewpoint by sounding progressive, liberal and upholder of woman’s rights.

“It isn’t being fascist or conservative, but experience has taught that woman is Fitna, temptation, distraction and real shadowy originator of numerous problems”, retorted back Nadeem trying to sound being an expert as far as practical issues are concerned. “Now it is ludicrous, woman a temptation and seductive. Nadeem you are sounding as a typical Talibani or some cadre of Hindutva Brigade. You consider her body seductive and temptation for men, who can’t control their emotions because of the woman being too liberal to keep your norms of morality”, Zulkifl now taking stance as a real Woman Rights Activist.

Widow Remarriage & The responsibilities of our faith

Since the inception of armed struggle in the valley a number of new problems have initiated and cropped up in our society. As is clear from the inception of the mass armed struggle which due to the culmination of alienation with India was exploited by Pakistan who provided material, political, diplomatic and economic support to the struggle when suited its National interests and when not decamped the Kashmiris to become cannon fodder in the tussle between the two nations. The Leaders at that moment gave their whole hearted support to the armed struggle and sent thousands of youth who are a real treasure for any nation to gallows with themselves resting and enjoying in solace & their own progeny safe and sound in Western countries about whom they never cease to criticize. The Leaders at the moment among which some are still alive even today were so myopic and intellectually bankrupt that they couldn’t surmise the consequences of fighting an armed battle with a huge state?? This state of apathy still continues even today, though some of the stalwarts of the armed struggle have dropped their guns and came to the table for dialogue though the damage has been done and they couldn’t even rectify it as they are an elite which are unconcerned with the common man’s problems whose corpse they only need to press their demands and vested interests.

WORKING OR HOME MAKER MOTHERS? Mothers Day Special

“Mother is the most solacing and inspiring word in the human lexicon. The word Mother encompasses in its essence a whole plethora of vision whose deliberations would require tomes to elaborate, still the Justice will evade and remain a distant dream. The concept of womanhood is deeply embedded with the self sacrifice of motherhood without whose accomplishment the humanity will lie in shambles which we can witness in the Western Societies where the family as a Social unit of society is falling apart due to the lack of motherhood which is the vital link uniting the family in a single solidified unit. The mothers are the cornerstones and building blocks of any society and nation as the new generation cradles in their laps. They are the initial schools and inspiration for the children to emulate; but this whole rearing and inspiring role model of motherhood is now under strain even in the Oriental Eastern Civilization where mother enjoys a dominant, respectable place and in some cases mother is even surmounted to a stature of deity or even god to be honoured unlike the occident Western Civilization where woman under the false garb and camouflage of freedom, liberty, equality has been reduced to a mere commodity and social butterfly whose use is necessary to promote the products and reap surplus dividends by exploiting her body.

My Name is Khan ... A Review

My Name is Khan is released all over the world on 12 th feb 2010 and is running successfully inspite of many controversies.  King Khan arrives at theatres with a bang this Friday with his much waited flick My Name is Khan. In the movie Shah Rukh and Kajol pair up after almost eight years to give audiences a look at their favorite onscreen couple. Shah Rukh’s performance as the Asperger Syndrome affected Rizwan Khan is superlative and Kajol as Mandira is entertaining. The movie takes you from India all the way to US where Rizwan shifts base to move in with his younger sibling. While at work in US he crosses path with Mandira who is raising a son all by herself. The two tie the knot and start a new life together on a happy note. But, happiness is short lived as they are caught in the post 9/11 racial attacks. Life takes a sour turn between the two and Rizwan is forced to leave Mandira. Thus begins the quest and a journey across the US to regain lost love. SRK’s performance is moving and movie blends the emotions of glee, grief, tribulations in a great way. Karan Johar does feel it is the best among all the movies he has made so far. The movie is a decent one and worth the watch.

Surviving an Economic Crisis or Depression
